Ce rapport analyse les résultats des élèves anglais aux tests de lecture effectués dans le cadre de l'enquête internationale PIRLS, en les comparant à ceux des autres pays participants.
Au total, plus de 200 000 élèves âgés de 9 à 10 ans, issus de 41 pays différents ont été impliqués dans l'édition 2006 de cette enquête, sous l'égide de l'IEA (International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement).
Le rapport a été réalisé par le NFER propose les chapitres suivants :
