Erasmus+ annual report 2019

Date :  12/2020

The flagship EU Erasmus+ programme represents one of the Europe’s most tangible achievements: uniting people and creating a European sense of belonging and solidarity, through life-changing learning experiences. The programme gives millions of Europeans a wider field of expression, creating new friendships, raising qualifications and improving the prospects of all participants to better succeed in life. Evidence and participants’ testimonies both show that Erasmus+ enables young people to thrive in the modern labour market and in an increasingly diverse society.

In 2019, once again, thousands of students, apprentices, teachers, youth workers, trainers in vocational training, studied, trained or gained professional experience abroad. With a budget of €3.37 billion euros, Erasmus+ supported more than 940 000 learning experiences abroad, financed close to 111 500 organisations and funded around 25 500 projects. As in past years, the programme fully delivered on its objectives, achieving excellent implementation performance and efficient use of funds, demonstrating its high potential for scaling up implementation in the future, shaping and implementing a modern, greener, more inclusive and fit for the digital age programme in the years to come.
